The EdgeIron 8X10G Ethernet Switch delivers interface flexibility, wire-speed performance, port density, and a complete standard Layer 2 feature set to address low-cost and high performance switching requirements of enterprise and service providers.

Only 1 rach unit (1RU) high, the EdgeIron 8X10G is an excellent choice to deliver Gigabit Over Copper (GoC) with 10-GbE uplink within the wiring closet and server farm, and 10-GbE within the backbone. The EdgeIron 8X10G is easy to configure and maintain. It offers a cost-effective and high-performance Layer 2 solution for enterprise network deployments.

The EdgeIron 8X10G is an 8-port 10-GbE that supports removable and hot swappable SR, LR, and ER XFP optics. It comes with a switching performance of 160-Gbps and a forwarding rate of 120-Mpps. Including in the EdgeIron 8X10G is a 10/100 management port that can be used for our-of-band network management.

    Prior to Brocade® acquiring Foundry® Networks in 2008, the Foundry® EdgeIron 8X10G was designated End-of-Life.

    Therefore, manufacturer’s maintenance is not available but…
